Our Myanmar office has been running since 2011 as a representative office. In 2015 a new Myanmar company has been registered under Myanmar law as 'Henderson Survey and Inspection Services Myanmar Ltd'. The registration will remove all restrictions and allow the company to expand as needed.

It seems to be the season for German owned and Gard P&I entered vessels to collide with Chittagong port jetties! This morning the container feeder vessel MV Francoise Gilot (IMO no. 9295517) made contact with NCT Jetty 2 causing some damage to the jetty. Again this evening another container vessel MV Mount Bokor damaged NCT Jetty 1. Surprisingly both vessels are entered with Gard Norway, are managed by companies based in Hamburg, Germany and are flagged with Antigua and Barbuda.
There have been a number of accidents in Chittagong port when berthing or un-berthing with a pilot on board. This really raised the question of pilot quality in Chittagong and overall harbour management. Shipowners should be aware as port is recently making large claims for damage to jetties.
Panama flagged feeder vessel MV Star of Luck is held up by Chittagong Port Authority for damaging Jetties 3 and 4 of New Mooring Container terminal. The incident occurred on 11 May 2014 in the morning while the vessel was coming alongside with containers. A 7 member committee has been set up by the port for investigation. The vessel is held up in the mean time.
Henderson Yangon office has a new manager. Ms Thant Thant Sin Aung has assumed responsibility for the Yangon office. Ms Aung, known locally as Ma Mu, has over twenty years experience in shipping and inspection. more..
